Enterprise in the Creative Industries & Performing Arts (ECIPA)

~ A conference for educators, sector support staff, students and graduates
As part of National Enterprise Week, the ECIPA conference will focus on the role of higher education in developing and supporting emerging creative enterprises and how to further inspire their creation. The event is open to both staff and students in higher education as well as business intermediaries and all relevant support agencies.
Higher education has a major role to play in enabling, inspiring and informing the transition from being a student to being a success in the creative and art industries. The conference explores the roles of higher education institutions in developing stimulating learning and teaching environments and providing support services that encourage students to pursue artistic and creative enterprise-related careers.
Conference themes will include:
* Raising the profile of entrepreneurship and self-employment as a career choice amongst arts students and graduates
* Activities in higher education that develop and promote enterprise in the arts
* Sharing innovative practice for teaching and supporting new artists and potential creative entrepreneurs in all disciplines
* Case studies of graduates succeeding as entrepreneurs in the creative and performing arts
* Developing effective partnerships between higher education institutions and relevant business intermediaries
* Supporting budding entrepreneurs now, post-graduation and in the future * Interactive sessions to enable students to gain creative enterprise skills
The student and graduate strand of the event will include inspiring networking activities and creativity games hosted by NCGE and the Design Council!
